My client, a telco operator in Haiti, is looking to recruit a CTO / Technical Director. The chief technical officer (CTO) reports to the in country General Manager or appointee and is responsible for establishing the company's technical vision and leading all aspects of the company's technology development. The CTO is the company top technology executive, playing an integral role in the company's strategic direction, development, future growth and day to day operations of a high quality world class wireless network. Responsibilities - Lead the execution of technology strategy for technology platforms, partnerships, and external relationships. Build and manage a strong local technology team and oversee any new research and development, as well as project management. Provide visible leadership for the company within the Engineering group. Study, Research and Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of company leadership in the competitive landscape. Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations. Coordinate technology strategic planning, actively seeking ways to leverage the integration of business processes with applicable emerging technologies in order to improve and streamline operations and services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Promote a sustainable technology framework and coordinate related teams. And engineering personnel in developing internal systems to improve the security, effectiveness and efficiency of their technology infrastructures. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of short and long-term technology plans and related policies and procedures. Anticipate significant system and industry changes, presenting information and analysis to facilitate a proactive approach to problems and opportunities. Serve as primary technical liaison with Vendors. Consult with Vendors to share technology-related knowledge, business process enhancements, and best practices. Participate with senior management in planning the short and long-range technology strategies for the company. Provide high-level analytical support and advise on technology-related matters. Take a lead role in establishing and implementing standards that will facilitate a quality engineering infrastructure.BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred or very strong demonstrable and valid experience. Technical experience in GSM and Wireless technologies, Value Added Services platforms, Site construction and deployment of cell sites from “A to Z” – Site Acquisition to On-Air.
