Our client is a leading business communications specialist. Over the past 20 years they have been at the forefront of the UK’s telecoms & IT revolution. They are an independently owned company that has grown rapidly to become a market leader in corporate voice & data services. They are now looking to recruit a Network Consultant.

Position: Network Consultant
Location: Leeds / Watford / Flexible Location/ Home Based
Salary: Circa 50 – 60K

ROLE:
The Network Consultant’s primary role is to lead the design and integration of networking solutions and create documentation that is accurate, thorough and polished. To meet the customers requirements and deliver appropriate support throughout the company in developing understanding and knowledge transfer of network technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Identify and recommend solutions appropriate to customers needs and responsible for ensuring feasibility of solutions offered through detailed diagnosis of customer requirements.
b) Accountable for accuracy of solutions design based on nominated vendor platform and liaising with Technical Design Authority.
c) Development of new Propositions – integrated solutions and managed services to including demonstrating to sales dependencies and caveats on provisional designs, providing technical support and advice to internal and external customers and providing input into bid management and sales order process as required.
d) Install and test solutions in house.
e) Attend customer meetings to present complex information in an appropriate language to the customer, leveraging technical experience and know-how to help close sales and deliver technical solutions.
f) Carry out initial customer installation’s and integrations of specific solutions.
g) Evaluate and produce procedure for knowledge transfer to the rest of the company as appropriate.
h) Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
i) Proactively or as advised attend internal and external training events to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
j) Evaluate new products and assist with internal training as required.
k) Production of all supporting documentation.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
a) Solid understanding of network design and implementation in an enterprise environment
b) Comprehension of networking concepts including network design principles, data flow determination, routing, switching, VLANs, IP addressing, etc.
c) Familiarity with network scanning/analysis procedures and toolsets for network readiness assessments.
d) Experience of enterprise class network management/monitoring systems.
e) Experience of delivering bespoke training to customers designed around the installed solution.
f) Experience of design and implementation of enterprise class Network Security solutions.
g) Full knowledge and high level of technical understanding of Cisco,
